Breathing exercises? Question revamp!
Simply bringing my awareness to my breathing returns me to the here and now – the present moment. It does take practice especially when my mind is catapulted into overwhelming responses but recently I’ve been very surprised by how much of a positive pay-back I’m getting for all those hours sitting in formal meditation practice and also the spontaneous focussing on my breath during the day (especially during ‘stress-head’ situations).
My original question here was to do with the Sama Vritti Pranayama yoga ‘equal breathing’ exercise (which I looked up – so no worries!) and then I remembered TPapi’s update “If you meditate, staying focussed on our breath…”/ Patrick’s post “Thich Nhat Hanh’s – Breathe You Are Alive” and Travis’ #3 “watch my breath for a 10 count…My personal meditation practice”
I guess my question is just a general – How’s your breathing?!! :)
